Mexican Airlines are just disgustingly corrupt. No Transparent. Mostly dependable, but cancel on a dime if the flights are not full. Well what happens to your Credit in cash? What happens to your hotel reservation which is prepaid?

Stay in car distance.But tickets which are refundable. Make sure you are not paying more for your luggage than you are for the ticket itself. Take buses if within 500 KM! Same time if one includes waits at airports, security, late flights, and half the cost.

International flights are held to standards of respectable international rules.
