Have now added Izamal to my bucket list! Really enjoyed the article! However, although it may sound clever, your use of a cultural stereotype regarding Japanese tourists didn’t add anything to the article. Insensitive stereotypes can be applied to all groups even to our Mexican friends. So, why don’t we just avoid them altogether?

Pueblos Mágicos are well worth visiting all around the country, and those in the Yucatán peninsular are great.

You are right Yucatán is my region, not my state. My state of Quintana Roo has four of these beautiful magic towns and the Yucatán, my region, has the rest. I will go and amend that typo to say ‘my region’ so no one else gets confused. I’m glad you read the article and hope you enjoy the pueblos mágicos as much as I do. Cheers, Bel.

Hola to you in the beautiful Acapulco! Thanks for reaching out and yes you are right, the Pope did visit Izamal and it’s one of the theories as to why the entire town was painted in the beautiful yellow and white. It’s so beautiful and I’m glad you enjoyed it as well. Cheers Bel.

Cozumel is not in Yucatán state – it is in Quintana Roo. Part of the Yucatán peninsula, yes; in the state, no. And I think some of the other ten you mention are also in Q Roo.

Great place….I visited when living in Playa del Carmen. I think the Pope, too, made a pilgrimage here…..Cheers, now, from Acapulco!
